Daniel Martin is a postdoctoral Researcher in the School of Media and Communication at the University of Leeds, working on the project “Public Service Media in the Age of Platforms” (CHANSE funded). He has recently completed his PhD in Film and Television Studies at the University of Warwick. He is currently in the process of expanding his thesis, examining the “Representation of the Northern Male Body in British Film and Television”, into a monograph. His research interests revolve around the politics of film and television representation – involving issues of class, race, gender, and regionality – and specifically in relation to the fields of media aesthetics, media industries, and public service media. His work has been published in journals such as The Journal of British Cinema and Television and Critical Studies in Television.
