Members of the PSM-AP team presented at the 75th Annual ICA Conference that occurred from June 12-16 in Denver, Colarado, USA. Our project presented in the panel of the Polish Communication Associaton, titled “Reinventing Public Service Media in the Age of Platforms”. The panel included research conducted by PSM-AP team members Tim Raats, Catalina Iordache, Dan Martin, Massimo Scaglioni, Michał Głowacki, Antonio Nucci and Filip Świtkowski. Chairing the panel was Iwona Hofman, President of the Polish Communication Association. The panel took place at Capital 2, Hyatt Regency Denver on Sunday, June 15th from 4:30 – 5:45pm MT.
“Reinventing Public Service Media for the Age of Platforms” uses multilayered analytical prisms to uncover challenges in public service media (PSM). Before focusing on broader contexts for PSM news and journalism, the panel examines platform challenges, regulation, and organisational obstacles. Overall, it disseminates findings from three international comparative research projects, using Western and Central European case studies and diverse research methodologies.
