Catalina Iordache is a senior researcher and guest professor at the research group imec-SMIT, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, where she obtained her PhD in 2022 with a dissertation on the transnational flow of audiovisual content online. In the PSM-AP project, Catalina is the postdoctoral researcher for the Belgian team. The project combines key areas of her research expertise including audiovisual production and distribution, streaming media, comparative analysis, Public Service Media, and European media policy. Catalina has published her work in a number of established media and communication journals. She is also currently vice-chair of the ECREA section Media Industries and Cultural Production. Before joining academia, Catalina worked as a project manager in the cultural field for an organisation based in Edinburgh. She also holds an MSc in Communication Studies from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and a BA in International Relations, European Studies from the University of Bucharest.
